Princeton Day School

Princeton Day School’s 7th grade partnered with Homefront to learn more about homelessness in Mercer County. The students spent the year learning about the issues surrounding homelessness in our community. They learned about the causes of homelessness, the impact of Covid-19 on homelessness, and the solutions to homelessness that Homefront provides.

The 7th graders decided to take on two tasks: to raise awareness about homelessness and Homefront, and to do a school wide diaper drive for Homefront.

In an effort to advocate for the cause, a group of about 30 students worked to create art projects that reflected on the concept of what home means to them. The students created a range of art with many different meanings to the word ‘home’. They made art, wrote artist statements, and learned about installation. They hope that their work can raise awareness about Homefront and the needs of our community.
