Born in Mumbai, India, as a child art was always the highlight of Neelam’s school days. After pursuing a BFA, Neelam moved to the United States with her husband in 1984. Raising two boys and working as a computer programmer she kept experimenting with various art forms.
In 2002 she started creating hand painted canvas rugs or floorcloths. Over the last 20 years she created over 18K sq. ft. of floorcloths for private homes, historic houses and museums.
In 2016 Neelam started creating abstract landscapes using acrylic paints. Her inviting landscapes and serene waterscapes connect her emotions to the viewer through her unique translucent application creating dreamy ethereal places to escape. Her paintings are not planned; rather, she enjoys painting intuitively, allowing each painting to tell its own story and connect with the viewer.
