Mark’s love of old objects compels him to create symbolic portraits of historic architecture, scenic landscape paintings, and strikingly realistic still life images of everyday items. Mark explains, “I have a deep appreciation for things that evoke a sense of nostalgia. My mission is to document these relics in detailed oil paintings, bringing a renewed attention to their existence.”
As a contemporary realist painter, Mark’s work balances the line between painting and photograph. The use of dark shadows and sharp angles give depth and movement to his compositions. Mark’s paintings embody a sense of reverence for the subject matter, which is often heightened by the stark solitude of his imagery.
