Sō PERCUSSION to Perform at Small World Coffee

By Jacqui | Monday, July 16th, 2012 at 8:49 am

We are excited to announce that So Percussion will be returning for another live performance at Small World Coffee this Friday, July 20th!  Join us at Witherspoon at 8:30 pm.  This widely acclaimed group has performed at venues such as Lincoln Center Festival, Carnegie Hall, Brooklyn Academy of Music, and throughout the world.  In 2000, they founded a summer program based out of Princeton University to mentor young musicians.  The chamber music seminar features the members of So, and their performance at Small World will be the culmination of the summer session.

“Since 1999, So Percussion has been creating music that explores all the extremes of emotion and musical possibility.  Called an “experimental powerhouse” by the Village Voice, “astonishing and entrancing” by Billboard Magazine, and “brilliant” by the New York Times, the Brooklyn-based quartet’s innovative work with today’s most exciting composers and their own original music has quickly helped them forge a unique and diverse career.”

Friday’s show is FREE to all.  To learn more about So Percussion, visit their website.

We were pleased to see an excellent photo essay & interview with Princeton University Vice President, Bob Durkee, posted to the Genius Country blog.

Small World Coffee came to Princeton, NJ because of Princeton University.  Back in 1993, Brant and Jessica were looking for the perfect college town to open Small World Coffee, and they stopped looking once they found Princeton.  Eighteen years later, we are happy to serve this amazing community, both town and gown.  Bob Durkee has been a loyal customer and comes in most days for his “no whip mocha”.
