Oaxaca Love Tour – Part 2

Oaxaca city is located in the central valley of the state of Oaxaca in the foothills of the Sierra Madre. This beautiful city is known for it’s colonial era structures as well as native Zapotec and Mixtec archeological sites. The diversity of the Oaxacan cuisine has given it a reputation of being the culinary capital of Mexico and the nickname Land of the Seven Moles. We had a lot of fun wandering the streets and markets of Oaxaca, sampling the food and taking in the local artisan crafts.

Oaxaca Love Tour – Part 1

My sister, Jennifer, called me up just over three weeks ago and said that her husband, Dave, was finishing up a birding trip in Chiapas, Mexico and she was thinking of meeting him in Oaxaca to celebrate their 24th wedding anniversary. She knew George and I were planning our second honeymoon (we did a mini-moon right after our wedding), so, did we want to join them? Not only would we be celebrating our two marriages, but Jen and Dave got married on what would have been our late mother’s 74th birthday. Jen was pitching it as the Oaxaca Love Tour. Love Show 2013 to Open Friday, Feb. 8th

The artists have been notified, the DJ’s are ready, and we’re getting out our dancing shoes…. Please join us on Friday, February 8th at 8pm for the Love Show 2013 Opening Party!  There will be art, music, food, and fundraising for HiTops, a local nonprofit dedicated to promoting teen health and well-being.  In addition to suggested donations at the door, artists have the option of donating the proceeds from the sale of their artwork to HiTops.

We look forward to the opening, and we hope you’ll spread the word and join us on the dance floor!
