The artists have been notified, the DJ’s are ready, and we’re getting out our dancing shoes…. Please join us on Friday, February 8th at 8pm for the Love Show 2013 Opening Party!  There will be art, music, food, and fundraising for HiTops, a local nonprofit dedicated to promoting teen health and well-being.  In addition to suggested donations at the door, artists have the option of donating the proceeds from the sale of their artwork to HiTops.

We look forward to the opening, and we hope you’ll spread the word and join us on the dance floor!

By Jacqui | Monday, November 5th, 2012 at 9:10 am

We are excited about the fourth annual LOVE SHOW!
Artists are invited to submit a piece of original artwork for exhibition at Small World Coffee’s Witherspoon Street cafe during the month of February 2013. The show will center around the word ‘love’, and artists are encouraged to respond to that word – in broad or specific terms – and to create a piece of art that they feel somehow expresses the word or any of its myriad of connotations. Local Marathons, Powered by Small World Coffee

By Jacqui | Friday, August 31st, 2012 at 10:06 am

Lace up your running shoes for a few great causes this fall!  We are proud to be sponsors of a few races in the Princeton area this season.  (Click on the links for the full details of each.)  Plan on running in these?  Share your race photos with us on Facebook or Twitter!

Proceeds from the Helene Cody 5K benefit the Helene Cody Foundation, which works to inspire youth to volunteer.  Helene was an avid runner who participated in fundraising races throughout the Princeton area.  Sing up to run for this great cause here.  The race is Saturday, 9/8.

What better way to enjoy a Saturday than to tour the Princeton campus? How about a run through campus? The Butler-Wilson 5K is Saturday 9/15 at 9am.

We will be serving our coffee at the Princeton Half Marathon, being held on 11/4.  Run through the Princeton University campus, past Einstein’s house, and along Carnegie Lake as a fundraiser for HiTops!  Sign up for this half marathon here.

Sickles Market to Tour Small World Roasters

By Jacqui | Monday, August 27th, 2012 at 10:00 am

Our friends and wholesale partners at Sickles Market will be paying a special visit to Small World Roasters this fall!  We are delighted to welcome tour director Kirsty and her group of visitors as they explore Princeton as part of an ‘Edible Princeton’ tour designed and lead by Sickles!  After visiting our Princeton neighbors at Cherry Grove Farm and stopping for lunch at Eno Terra, visitors will meet us at Small World Roasters for a tour of our roasting facility, lead by master roasters Jon and Brant.

They’ll get a behind the scenes look at the coffee roaster as Jon and Brant explain the nuances of coffee roasting, along with our coffee sourcing and roasting philosophy.  And, of course, their visit would not be complete without some coffee!

Located in Little Silver, NJ, Sickles Market is a family owned and operated specialty food store.  We’re thrilled to be on their shelves – amongst a wide selection of gourmet foods and fresh produce – and we look forward to welcoming them to Princeton before they head to their next tour stop – Sicily!  Visit their website for more information about their amazing market & community programs.

Sō PERCUSSION to Perform at Small World Coffee

By Jacqui | Monday, July 16th, 2012 at 8:49 am

We are excited to announce that So Percussion will be returning for another live performance at Small World Coffee this Friday, July 20th!  Join us at Witherspoon at 8:30 pm.  This widely acclaimed group has performed at venues such as Lincoln Center Festival, Carnegie Hall, Brooklyn Academy of Music, and throughout the world.  In 2000, they founded a summer program based out of Princeton University to mentor young musicians.  The chamber music seminar features the members of So, and their performance at Small World will be the culmination of the summer session.

“Since 1999, So Percussion has been creating music that explores all the extremes of emotion and musical possibility.  Called an “experimental powerhouse” by the Village Voice, “astonishing and entrancing” by Billboard Magazine, and “brilliant” by the New York Times, the Brooklyn-based quartet’s innovative work with today’s most exciting composers and their own original music has quickly helped them forge a unique and diverse career.”

Friday’s show is FREE to all.  To learn more about So Percussion, visit their website.
