Only two hours before, I was sitting in my office in Princeton before heading to the city. I hadn't managed to break out of the work mode completely when I found myself in the middle of Sixth Avenue walking by a picture perfect Darth Vader, dark, menacing and majestic - while he himself was slowly passed by a disco cart packed with dancing people playing Anita Ward's "You Can Ring My Bell". It's these weird and surreal moments that I personally enjoy about Halloween in New York.

Oliver Fluck is a Princeton based photographer and member of the Princeton Photography Club. Originally from Germany, Fluck chose to explore the US with a camera when he first moved to New Jersey in 2003. With "41 people in costumes," he shows a series of portraits taken at the famous Halloween Parades in New York City between 2006 and 2008.
